An exciting opportunity opens up for Cooks to join our team at Angkor Cafe & Restaurant located in West Melbourne, Victoria. Join our growing team with a love for food!

Key Responsibilities:

Carefully examine fresh ingredients, including vegetables, meats, and spices, to maintain our high standards of quality and freshness, vital for authentic Asian flavors.
Expertly regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, woks, and other cooking equipment, ensuring precise cooking techniques crucial for dishes like Fish Amok or Fish Carpaccio
Prepare and cook a wide range of Cambodian dishes, adhering to traditional recipes and techniques, showcasing the unique balance of sweet, sour, salty, and bitter flavors.
Properly store food in temperature-controlled facilities to maintain food safety standards and preserve the quality of ingredients.
Contribute to menu planning and estimating food requirements
Provide guidance or train fellow staff on the preparation and cooking of the new dishes

What We’re Looking For:

Certificate IV in Cookery or Diploma in Hospitality Management (Required)
Food Handlers Certificate (Required)
Have at least one (1) year experience as a Cook
Knowledge of Asian cuisine, ideally Cambodian (nice to have, but optional)
Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
A passion for delivering high-quality food
